Sheriff's Deed. On 01 Feb 1720 Rowland FITZGERALD, sheriff of New Castle cnty, to Samuel KIRK. Whereas Gilbert FALCONER in the Court of Common Pleas recovered against Anne ERICKSON,
administrator of the goods & chattels of Erick ERICKSON, late of New Castle, yeoman, dec'd; a debt of ¹61.0.10 pence & ¹5.7.4 damages to be levied on the lands of Erick ERICKSON at the time of
his death. Whereas Rowland FITZGERALD, sheriff, seized a plantation & land containing 784 acres lying at Crane Hook bounded by the crossing of the King's Road, land of Peter CLAWSON & the
Delaware River then in possession of Anne ERICKSON & all of the island called Crane Hook Island joining the said tract. WhereasErick ERICKSON by deed dated 01 Feb 1711 for ¹62 granted said
land to William VANDIVIER of Brandywine, inn holder, & John REES of Red Clay Creek, yeoman, on condition of payment of the said ¹62 plus interest on 01 Feb 1712. At inquest it appeared the
monies were not paid. Rowland FITZGERALD, sheriff, for ¹100 paid by Samuel KIRK of New Castle cnty, gentleman, to the said John REES, who survived William VANDIVIER. Signed Rowland FITZGERALD.
