Search Eyre History
Due to repeated requests for me to check to see if I have info on a given individual and the way the site is structured (individuals often located in a branch of the site based upon where they were born, which may present problems for those unaware of their origins) I've included a Google search facility in the top right hand of this pages banner.
The feature is limited to the pages that Google has indexed (currently 4000 plus pages) but should hopefully go someway to help find individuals where the exact branch is not known.
Tips:
- Enter the forename of an individual along with the surname of a close non Eyre relative such as a spouse or mother.
- Enter the name of an individual along with a location such as a town or village. As the site is updated with census information this type of search will become more usefull.
- Enter whole names in quotes, i.e "Charles Wasteneys Eyre".
The search feature will be incorporated into the banner on all pages as they are updated.
Work Still to do (INPO)
- Update obsolete links (many older pages still have links to his original site).
- Create parser for GEDCOMs to create a more consistant site layout/style.
- Improve accessibility (create more compliant pages both hand-coded and GEDCOM).
- Create style sheet specifically for printers (display none for unnecessary content such as navigation) to reduce wastage of paper and ink.
- Continue upgrading main entry level pages.
- Split large GEDCOMs up and re-create missing GEDCOMs with additional info gained from transcripts, census's, books etc.
- Upgrade the distribution section by including more maps.
Include Google maps of researcher distribution to contributors pageInclude Google maps of Grave Search coverage- Improve (increase options) transcription parsing scripts.
- Finish alternate CSS options.(estimate of 10)
